Hmmmm. . . . I guess the federal government is broke. Broke since April. And despite historic bailouts and “stimulus” spending our economy is stagnant. The cost of living is going up but the income for the people dependent on Social Security isn’t going up. It sure seems like the social security recipients are going [...]

A Monday night birthday bash to celebrate Matt, Lisa and Duane’s birthdays. We couldn’t have done it without Bill who procured the bonfire, the frybread, and the potato salad. Thanks to North House Church for the gifts, the pinata, and the snacks. Thanks to Curt for the pop, the firewood, and the JointCare for Andy [...]

Today a neighbor brought over two little kittens she rescued from the garbage. The were crying yesterday and today she went to find out what was making the noise. She found the kittens stuffed in a drawer of a dresser that was out in the garbage. Who can throw an animal away? If she hadn’t [...]
For quite some time I’ve been trying to find some scorching hot hot pepper paste. I’ve found some moderately hot pastes but they all have vinegar in them. I wanted to find some that was really hot, but not vinegary. Several years ago I had some friends from Israel and I remember [...]
Recently the American Library Association cancelled a panel, “Perspectives on Islam: Beyond the Stereotyping,” at the behest of CAIR and CAIR sympathizers. These organizations objected to the participation of Robert Spencer who has studied Islamic doctrine for close to 30 years and quotes directly from traditional Islamic sources in his efforts to [...]
Today I took two neighbor kids to the YWCA to go swimming. We had a good time. I swam 40/80 laps. The boys played with the rings and rockets and the mask and snorkel. We dove together in the deep end chasing the submarine rocket.
When I was getting dressed in the locker room I overheard [...]
According to Leah Popo was the BEST most wonderful pet EVER! And now he is free and rolling in the grass and chasing mice all the time. He was very loved and will be missed a lot. Popo was one Midnight’s kitties. He was born in 1996. We called him Panic because he got an [...]

Misty’s cat is looking for a home! This cat qualifies as a Disadvantaged Cat and if you adopt her you will be added to the illustrious Disadvantaged Cats website in honor of Graeme. Isn’t she beautiful?

The poor dog. He’s been clawed in the nose by Lucy three times that have drawn blood. Then he got scolded yesterday for barking at a kitty that was crawling on him and playing with his feet. Then he got stung by a wasp this morning. So let’s send Andy some [...]

We have officially adopted the first two disadvantaged kitties to the Hanto family of Apple Valley, Rosemount. They adopted two kitties: the biggest and the smallest of the litter. It will be fun in the years ahead to see how much different the two cats become. And we have the first officially named kitty: Dice! [...]

Take a close look. That crazy kitty is trying to suckle on Andy. The kitties turned four weeks old on Wednesday. Last night two of them — including this one in the picture — climbed into my bed and laid down on my chest and started purring. When they see me in the house they [...]

Naomi writes on Facebook yesterday that she is fighting a mouse infestation. I suggested she get one of our kitties to solve her problem. Right on schedule both Midnight and Nico caught mice this morning. She was meowing insistently so I went to see what her problem was. She had a [...]

Lucy, her official name, had six kitties. I thought she had more inside because her belly was still so big after six, but that just shows my ignorance of cat anatomy and pregnancy. Lucy got very sick after the delivery. She was so sick that by Saturday I thought she was going to die. I’ll [...]
Wow, she’s had six kitties.
See the little black and white one by her nose. It is such a fighter but it is so small. And it’s having a hard time finding a nipple.
Look at her holding her baby! She’s taking a break from labor. I can still feel more inside her.
Typically cats want to go and hide when they start labor but she jumped into my lap. (S0 did Midnight when she had her kitties.) She is definitely having contractions. Then I moved her into the house because it was too noisy and distracting outside and I think it may have stopped [...]
Who will win the bet as to what date the cat will have her kitties and how many she will have?
Hannah Monday 5 (I lost)
Sandra Tuesday 5
Cassie Wednesday 4
Katie Wednesday 5
Ken Thursday 4
Kevin Thursday 6
Luke Friday 5
Jazz Sunday 4
Today she is panting and looking a little haggard. Poor girl.
My dad fell in the living room and scraped his face on the carpeting. He’s got a rug burn on his forehead and nose. He hit his face so hard it’s swollen under his eyes. He got dizzy after standing up too long entertaining the neighbor girl. It’s hard seeing [...]
Anyone that knew Graeme knows how much he loved cats. He considered it his calling in life to help disadvantaged cats. In his honor we have found a home for this cat. She is a homeless, pregnant female about to give birth. We will keep her at our house [...]
